Gesture assignments for taps and double taps

AirSwipe

Free hand gesture controls

Tap and double tap

Point up to tap, or make a victory sign to double tap.

Scroll with a wave

Open your palm and swipe up, down, left, or right to scroll and move through content.

Volume and brightness

Assign gestures to raise or lower the volume and screen brightness.

Play and pause

Use the OK sign, or another gesture you choose, to control media playback.

Separate hands and gesture lock

Set different actions for your left and right hands. Lock actions to avoid accidental triggers, then unlock with your chosen gesture.

Control other apps with hand gestures

Scroll a recipe or reading page

Keep your phone where the front camera can see your hand. Use an open-palm swipe to scroll a recipe or reading page without touching the screen. Recognition depends on lighting, hand position and the app being controlled.

Control media from a distance

Assign hand gestures to play or pause media and change volume while another app stays open. Pro adds previous, next, rewind and fast-forward in supported media apps.

How to start using AirSwipe

  1. Open AirSwipe and allow camera access for hand recognition. Enable its Accessibility service for taps, swipes and assigned system actions.
  2. Choose your gesture actions. Keep your hand visible to the front camera in suitable lighting.
  3. Start gesture control and open the app you want to use. Grant any additional permissions needed for your chosen actions, such as changing brightness or enhanced media controls.

AirSwipe

Before you start

  • Android 12 or later and a front camera
  • Camera permission for gesture recognition
  • Accessibility permission for taps, swipes, and assigned system actions
  • Change system settings permission for brightness; phone permission for call actions; notification access for enhanced media controls

Recognition depends on lighting, hand position, camera visibility, device performance, and the app being controlled. Check important actions and keep direct phone controls available.

Privacy Policy

Questions, answered

Does AirSwipe read my screen or what I type?

AirSwipe does not use Accessibility to read screen content or typed text. Camera frames and gesture recognition are processed locally on your device.

Why do media controls need notification access?

Enhanced media controls use it to identify the app currently playing media. AirSwipe does not read or store private notification content.

Will AirSwipe answer calls automatically?

No. Answering, declining, or ending a call requires phone permission and your corresponding gesture. AirSwipe does not read call logs, contacts, or phone numbers.
